Hey Wayfarers – Save The Date for Wayfarer Weekend!

We are very excited to announce this year’s Wayfarer Weekend location; this year is going to be especially great because we get to share our absolute favorite adventure hub with you – Salida, Colorado.

What makes Salida our favorite basecamp for adventure? Well… let’s say there’s an overabundance of things to do in the area – epic hiking and biking trails, hot springs, fishing, rafting, ghost towns, great restaurants, unique shops, and sand dunes are just a few of our favorites. Furthermore, we’ve booked the historic Hutchinson Ranch just a few miles down the road from downtown Salida. The Hutchinson Ranch was one of the very first settlements in Salida and has been operated by the same family for over 150 years. 

Come hang out and catch some views of the incredible Collegiate Peak Range in Colorado and camp under the stars with your fellow Wayfarians.

We are also opening this event to soon-to-be Wayfarians, so come hang out and get to know an awesome community of van owners.  Tent/car camping will be also available at the Hutchinson Ranch. 

Don’t wait to get your tickets because we will be putting a cap on the number of attendees this year and will close ticket sales on July 1st. 

*Tickets are based on “per-person”, so please plan accordingly if there is more than one of you traveling in your van.

July 19th, 20th and 21st

Gates will open July 19th at 9:00 AM

*For you early birds that need a place to camp for the night prior to the event, camping will be allowed starting at 2pm on Thursday the 18th.

Schedule of events:

  • Friday July 19th
    • Check in at the barn – all day
    • 7PM, hosted Dinner
      • *We will have packets for you at the barn with recommendations and directions according to your preferred mode of recreation: hiking, biking, fishing, sight-seeing, relaxing etc.
  • Saturday July 20th
    • 8AM – 10AM, hosted Breakfast
    • 10AM – 6PM, free time for adventuring!
    • 7PM, hosted Dinner
    • Musical entertainment after dinner provided by fellow Wayfarian Gil Selinger
  • Sunday July 21st
    • 8AM – 10AM, hosted Breakfast
    • Farewells

  • There will be porta-poties at the ranch but no showers.
  • Showers are available at the Salida Hot Springs Pool for $5.
  • Camp spots are first come first serve.
    • There are limited shady spots but ample room to spread out.
  • Salida’s elevation is 7,083, so bring sun screen and plenty of water.
    • Potable water is available at the ranch.
  • Dogs are allowed on leashes.
  • Fishing on the ranch is allowed (with a signed waiver) in designated areas.
  • Hiking, biking and walking permitted on designated trails within the ranch.
  • Bikers must wear a helmet.
  • No motorized ATV’s or Recreational Vehicles
  • Amplified sound and lights out by 11PM.
  • Please be peacful with the wildlife and ranch animals.
  • Campfires are permitted if there is no fire ban, and will only be allowed in designated areas.
  • No firearms.
  • No fireworks.
  • No hunting.
  • Please dispose of your trash before dark to prevent critters from making a mess.
  • Only campers registered with the event will be allowed to camp on the Hutchinson Ranch Property.
  • Slow Driving on the Ranch and use Extreme Caution Entering and Exiting HWY 50!
