Just like the annual spring thaw, we see it every year: a flood of interested folks who want to get a camper van before summer. If that’s you, don’t worry, we’re here to help.

First off, if you’ve reached us after navigating down a rabbit hole of vanlife videos on Instagram, please take a deep breath and relax your shoulders.

Feels better already, doesn’t it?

Okay, keep in mind a few things that are likely different about us than all the other custom builders you’ve seen out there:

  1. We don’t do custom work (or Sprinters) – if you don’t see it on our website, we don’t do it. Our streamlined approach helps us to keep our conversions quick and affordable. Feel free to customize your van and tackle DIY projects if you want to after it’s converted.
  2. It doesn’t cost more than a house – conversions start at $20k. That cost includes our installation as well.
  3. It doesn’t have to take a lot of time – we typically book installs within 2-6 weeks, and we’ll complete your conversion in a day.

So let’s break it down for you. How do you get a van?

🚐 If you already have a van or will be getting one on your own:

Step 1: Place Your Order

Select the conversion specific to your van:

You can add any accessories you’d like and pick your cushion colors. We also offer a few different financing options as well.

Step 2: Schedule Your Install

You’ll get an email from the Wayfarer crew to confirm your install date – typically booked for 2-6 weeks after purchase.

Step 3: Bring Us Your Van

You’ll bring your van to our shop, and we’ll get your van converted in one day. While our crew converts your van, you can borrow a shop van to check out some of our favorite day hikes, coffee shops, or restaurants. When your conversion is complete, our team will walk you through your new van and send you off on your maiden journey.

🚐 If you are looking for a complete camper van (new van + conversion)

Step 1: Contact Us

Drop us a line on our contact page. Our contact form will help us understand which van and conversion you are most interested in. We have dealership partners we work with to help source new vans:

  • Walter – RAM ProMaster 136” Wheelbase, High Roof
  • Walt – RAM ProMaster 159” Wheelbase, High Roof
  • Wilford – Ford Transit 148” Wheelbase, High Roof
  • Wilma – Ford Transit 148” Wheelbase, Mid Roof
  • None of the RAM dealerships we work with really order PMC’s

Step 2: Chat with the Wayfarer Crew

You’ll hear from our journey architects Austin or Mitch a few days after they receive your info. While they are both superhumans, they are in fact humans, so we do occasionally let them out of the office to play. But they will do their best to get back to you within 2 business days.

They’ll help answer questions you have, and gather your info to send over to our dealership partners.

If you are looking to finance the van, you’ll then chat with the dealership with any questions you have regarding trade-ins or the like. You can learn more about our financing options here too.

Step 3: Purchase Your Van

Everything can be done remotely – with no haggling! Some vans are waiting on the lot. Or with the wild ride that is the supply chain right now, you may be placing an order for a van that will arrive in 3-9 months. Austin and Mitch help folks placing orders for vans every day, so they are a great resource for the most up-to-date information on what to expect in these unexpected times.

Step 4: Pick Up Your Van

Once your van has arrived at the dealership, we’ll work with you to schedule your install date. Your van will be transferred from the dealership to our shop where we will transform your camper van.

You’ll travel to our shop in Colorado Springs and you’ll pick up your completed van and drive off on your adventure!
