Set along the southern shore of Lake Michigan, Indiana Dunes National Park is a place of contrasts, towering sand dunes, quiet forests, wide-open beaches, and some of the most unique ecosystems in the region. It’s proof that you don’t have to travel far off-grid to find something truly special.
Our weekend together will blend outdoor adventure, local flavor, and seasonal magic. Activities will include hiking the iconic dunes and wooded trails, a behind-the-scenes tour of a working feed mill in nearby DeMotte, and, if timing is right, an unforgettable evening witnessing the Sandhill Crane migration at Jasper-Pulaski Fish & Wildlife Area, where tens of thousands of cranes gather during their annual fall stopover.
Join fellow Wayfarians for crisp autumn days, campfire conversations, and the kind of experiences that make these weekends memorable long after the vans are packed up. This Wayfarer Weekend is all about slowing down, exploring thoughtfully, and enjoying the changing season together.
